CELLULAR TOWER MONITORING

Raptors throughout the U.S. utilize cell phone towers as nesting platforms since heights (100' to 300' in the air.) and proximity to their preferred feeding sites are optimal.  Climbing towers to maintain, repair, or upgrade equipment may be restricted when nesting birds are present.  In addition, some species like eagles will keep adding to the nest over each season, so it can become quite heavy.  Young Bear Environmental Consulting can conduct nest monitoring to determine if nests are active or inactive, or if birds are exhibiting stressed behavior so that we can make recommendations based on state-by-state regulations.
